Meet the Maker

Hi, I'm Maeve, founder of Croft, Meadow and Rill — a small batch candle & home fragrance studio dedicated to slow living, built on the idea of bringing the peace and calm we all crave into everyday life through crafted candles and storytelling.

Our story follows The Crofter's Daughter, who returns to her ancestral home, rekindling the once glowing hearth, and finding meaning in making by hand. Her journey inspires every scent and every detail of our work.  This resonates with me following years of travel around the world and finally finding my happy place in Yorkshire allowing me the groundedness to rekindle my creative side.

All our candles and wax melts are vegan, cruelty free and we make the utmost effort to be sustainable in all our packaging.

Why Choose Our Candles

A woman with a basket walks barefoot to a warmly lit stone cottage at dusk.

Small-batch craftsmanship

Every candle is hand-poured in limited batches, crafted candles that reflect exceptional quality and attention to detail, perfect for those embracing a slow living lifestyle.

Clean-burning coconut and rapeseed wax

We pour our crafted candles using a thoughtfully crafted blend of coconut and rapeseed wax — chosen for its clean, consistent performance and its ethical appeal. Our wax is vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, GMO-free, and fully biodegradable, so you can enjoy each burn knowing you’ve made an environmentally responsible choice.

Sustainability isn’t just part of our product; it shapes every step of our process. From the materials we source to the way each candle is crafted, we’re committed to creating beautiful scents that tread gently on the earth, promoting a lifestyle of slow living.

For our wax melts, we use a premium soy wax ensuring a clean burn and silky smooth reset. Vegan-friendly, no animal products were used in the manufacturing or testing of this wax.

Fragrances with Intention

Each scent in our thoughtfully crafted candles, found in the Croft - Meadow - Rill collections, is an embodiment of slow living, with more fragrances on the way. We are genuinely excited for what's ahead and can't wait to share each new fragrance with you over the coming months.

Considered in every detail

From the wax to the wick to the jar, we strive to stay true to our story and craft of creating beautifully crafted candles. We look forward to adding specially curated details to our gift boxes — special little touches that embody slow living and we hope will make you smile.

Independent & story-led

Your purchase supports a small artisan studio with a dream to bring a little solace and warmth into your home through our crafted candles. Every candle and gift box is made with intention and care, embodying the essence of slow living. We're grateful you are here with us as we grow.

Follow us behind the scenes

We will soon be sharing a regular blog with studio updates, our journey in crafting candles, successes, lessons learned, and a few inevitable mishaps along the way. We invite you to join us in embracing slow living as we explore these experiences together.
